Worldpay has launched its MCP (Model Context Protocol), a publicly available set of server specifications and tools created to support AI-driven payment integration and agentic commerce.
The solution is available on Worldpay’s Developer Hub and Github, and developers and retailers can download, modify, and deploy the protocol today and create AI agents and direct payment integrations with Worldpay’s API.

The rollout follows a shift in consumer expectations towards more autonomous, AI-powered experiences, with 44% of American shoppers saying that they would engage an AI bot to browse on their behalf. This shows that commerce is moving towards agents searching and making purchases for consumers.
