Viva.com, one of Europe's first tech banks for businesses, has launched Tap to Pay on iPhone in Norway, enabling local merchants to accept contactless payments.
Accepted contactless payments include contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets, using only an iPhone and Viva.com’s Terminal app. Whether used in retail boutiques, design studios, mobile vendors, or service-based operations, Norwegian businesses can optimise checkout and provide an optimal customer experience, without queues, delays, or hardware limitations.
Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology, combined with Viva.com’s Terminal app, transforms any compatible iPhone into a secure, fast, and optimal checkout experience. This allows businesses to efficiently process contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and digital wallet transactions. Merchants can access it by downloading Viva.com’s Terminal app from the Apple App Store on an iPhone XS or later, running the latest iOS version.
The service supports international card schemes, including Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and Diners. Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology uses the built-in security and privacy features of the iPhone to help protect businesses and customer data. Additionally, Apple doesn’t store card numbers on Apple servers.
According to company data, Viva.com’s All-in-One business platform provides merchants with access to a suite of tools, including instant onboarding, real-time settlement, dynamic currency conversion, offline payments, fiscalisation, and support for 40 payment methods.
Viva.com’s expansion across Europe
The extension across Norway followed the one in Spain and was also available in seven additional countries, including Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Luxembourg, and Malta. The company aimed to support merchants in accepting contactless payments utilizing their mobile devices and the Viva.com Terminal app. Marketplaces and restaurants offered faster and simpler checkout experiences with contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and digital wallets, eliminating the need for additional hardware.
