Paysafe has launched PaysafeWallet in Poland, extending its digital wallet service to Polish consumers as part of its continued expansion across Europe. The wallet combines digital payments, money transfers, bank transfers, cash top-ups, and a personal debit card within a single application.
Building on existing PaysafeCard adoption
According to Paysafe, Poland has strong existing adoption of PaysafeCard, and the launch of PaysafeWallet is designed to build on that foundation by extending the service into a broader wallet offering. Existing PaysafeCard account holders can access PaysafeWallet directly through the Wallet tab in the existing app, while new customers can download the PaysafeCard app for Android or iOS to sign up.
Product features
With PaysafeWallet, customers can top up their account using cash, send money to other users, make in-store or online payments, and send or receive bank transfers, along with the ability to withdraw cash when needed. Customers receive a personal payment account with an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and a virtual debit card intended for use across multiple payment contexts.
Company commentary
A company official at Paysafe said younger consumers in Poland, as digital natives, expect payment methods that match the speed of their everyday activities, describing PaysafeWallet as offering a personal debit card accessible through a mobile phone, along with flexibility in how customers pay, send, and spend money, while retaining the option to use cash.
Adoption across Europe
According to Paysafe, approximately 600,000 users joined PaysafeWallet across Europe within an 18-month period, which the company said reflects consumer demand for payment solutions adapted to everyday use. Paysafe said it remains focused on giving customers flexibility between cash-based and card-based payment methods, or a combination of both.
Broader context
The launch reflects continued expansion of digital wallet services across European markets, as payment providers look to combine cash-based payment options, historically associated with products like PaysafeCard, with broader digital wallet functionality, including bank transfers and virtual debit cards, in response to demand from younger, digitally native consumers.
