Money movement app Venmo has joined forces with Bilt, aiming to expand how individuals across the US utilise its services for everyday payments.
Through this partnership, Venmo and Bilt intend to provide rent payments, mortgage repayments, and neighbourhood commerce as part of the former’s experience, which supports the company’s development from a peer-to-peer payments app to an everyday commerce platform.
Venmo and Bilt’s collaboration plans
As of the beginning of 2026, Bilt Members are set to have a new method to not only pay their rent and mortgage, but also to shop at Bilt neighbourhood merchants, adding Venmo to Bilt’s existing payment options of ACH, debit, and any other linked credit card. Additionally, members will be able to make housing payments in the Bilt app or within Venmo, leveraging their Venmo balance or linked payment methods, and receive the same during everyday activities, including dining, shopping, and fitness classes.
By working together, Bilt merges its rent and rewards network with Venmo’s social payment experience, equipping renters and homeowners with an optimal and flexible way to pay each month. The move enables Bilt Members to complete monthly payments efficiently, split costs with roommates, and earn Bilt Points that can be redeemed for travel, fitness, and home décor, among others.
Currently having approximately 5 million Bilt Members across the US, and now planning the early 2026 launch of mortgage rewards, Bilt and Venmo aim to simplify how individuals make payments. The collaboration boosts Venmo’s payment capabilities to Bilt’s network of more than 45,000 merchants. Bilt’s users, including local restaurants, retailers, gyms, pharmacies, and other businesses in the ecosystem, are set to be able to accept Venmo, providing consumers with expanded choice and flexibility in how they pay while supporting merchants in connecting to the latter’s community of 100 million active accounts.
Furthermore, inking this collaboration with Bilt comes as the first step in Venmo’s broader in-app commerce strategy, with the company planning to improve how the next generation spends, shares, and discovers. The partnership will officially commence at the beginning of 2026.
