Finance orchestration platform Payhawk has announced its partnership with Invopop to deliver pan-European eInvoicing compliance and automation.
Following this announcement, this collaboration is expected to expand Payhawk’s eInvoicing capabilities across the region of Europe, while also allowing finance teams to receive, validate, approve, and pay structured eInvoices directly within the platform without the need for additional systems or integrations.
In addition, through the process of combining compliance automation with intuitive workflows and deep ERP integrations, both companies will focus on enabling finance teams to turn regulatory change into operational advantage, managing complexity, driving efficiency, and enabling smarter finance across Europe.
The improvement of financial digital transformation across Europe
According to the official press release, the European business landscape is expected to undergo an important transformation since the introduction of VAT. Following Italy’s 2019 B2B eInvoicing reform, Germany focused on introducing an obligation to receive eInvoices for B2B transactions from January 1st, 2025. At the same time, Belgium is set to mandate Peppol-based eInvoices from January 2026, with France’s national rollout set for 2026–27 and Spain expected to follow.
These reforms aim to focus on the process of increasing transparency, combating fraud, and accelerating digital transformation. However, for multinational companies and firms, fragmented national frameworks and differing formats — from Factur-X to UBL — could also lead to the development of complexity and risk.
With this in mind, through its partnership with Invopop, Payhawk is expected to deliver a single, connected compliance network. The integration will combine Invopop’s certified Peppol connectivity and regulatory intelligence with Payhawk’s powerful AP automation, while also ensuring that structured eInvoices flow directly into Payhawk, where they are automatically validated against local standards before approval, payment, and real-time ERP reconciliation.
Furthermore, finance teams will be given the possibility to handle the entire eInvoicing process within Payhawk (from invoice reception to payment and ERP sync) across systems like NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Exact Online. This automation is set to eliminate manual processing, strengthen data integrity, as well as ensure ongoing overall compliance with each country’s eInvoicing requirements, all from one platform. As mandates evolve, Payhawk’s integration with Invopop is expected to provide scalability, enabling customers and clients to remain continuously aligned with Europe’s regulatory landscape without the requirement of additional systems or integrations.
In addition, this partnership reinforces Payhawk’s strategy to make finance orchestration optimised for modern businesses, connecting several financial touchpoints into one intelligent command center. The initiative enables the companies to deliver both through a unified framework, ensuring that organisations and institutions have the possibility to operate securely as the European eInvoicing landscape evolves.
