Vivid has added flight booking functionality to its travel management tool, allowing small and medium-sized businesses to arrange air travel directly from a single app.
The feature, called Vivid Flights, is part of a general initiative to integrate travel and finance tools into a single platform. Available through all Vivid Business plans, the new flight booking option covers more than 300 global airlines and allows reservations for individuals or teams, including those who are not Vivid users. The service is powered by Duffel, a third-party booking platform. A 3% airline transaction fee applies per booking.
The in-app booking service builds on an existing travel tool that launched three months ago, which initially offered hotel reservations and coworking space bookings via a partnership with Mindspace. Vivid officials said train bookings are also expected to be added later in the year.
Travel and finance integration for business operations
Vivid’s travel management offering sits within its broader financial platform, which includes expense tracking, payments, and business accounts. Businesses can now plan and pay for travel in the same app used for managing company finances. Travel spending is automatically integrated with bookkeeping features, aiming to improve administrative efficiency.
The platform also provides direct financial incentives, such as up to 30% cashback on hotel bookings. The cashback is credited in cash immediately after booking, rather than in reward points or vouchers.
According to recent industry research cited by the company, more than half of SMEs expect to increase their travel budgets in 2025. Around one-quarter anticipate growth of more than 10% year-on-year, underlining the continued role of business travel in client engagement and operational growth.
Representatives from Vivid stated that offering both travel and finance tools in one app can help SMEs reduce time spent on administration while also improving cost management. They also noted that instant cashback on hotels could provide liquidity benefits.
The travel management tool forms part of Vivid’s wider approach to SME financial services. The platform combines banking, operational, and treasury functions, and plans further feature integrations in future updates.
