Uber has expanded its partnership with Mastercard to enhance payment capabilities across its global platform.
The agreement extends existing initiatives in North America and introduces new services to additional international markets, including the United Kingdom.
An important aspect of the collaboration is the further rollout of the Uber Pro Card, a product already active in the United States and Canada. The card, which enables drivers and couriers to receive immediate access to earnings without fees, will be introduced to new markets. In addition to quick disbursements, it offers fuel-related cashback benefits and is being updated to incorporate Mastercard’s One Credential system. This digital solution consolidates payment credentials, offering drivers and couriers broader flexibility in managing their earnings.
Better financial tools for platform earners
The Uber Pro Card expansion forms part of Uber’s wider effort to strengthen its financial tools for platform earners. Officials from Uber stated that giving workers quicker access to funds and flexible financial services remains a priority, especially in the context of continued global cost-of-living pressures.
Under the renewed agreement, Uber will also leverage Mastercard Move for real-time fund transfers and Mastercard Gateway for digital payment processing and fraud prevention. Mastercard One Credential will further be integrated to simplify the user payment experience and centralise credential management for Uber’s earners.
Mastercard’s Offers Platform will be available to consumers using Uber’s mobility and delivery services, providing benefits to Mastercard cardholders globally. According to representatives from Mastercard, the extended collaboration is intended to offer a more streamlined payment experience across multiple user groups on the Uber platform, including consumers, drivers, and merchants.
Uber representatives described the ongoing partnership as a way to better serve users who rely on the platform for both income and everyday transactions. Mastercard officials added that the agreement connects a large base of Mastercard cardholders and merchants with Uber’s global network of users and earners, supporting payment efficiency and business growth for both firms.
