Bluefin, a US-based provider of PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) payment infrastructure, has announced an expansion of its partnership with Agile Ticketing Solutions, a provider of ticketing and event management software for theatres, performing arts venues, and entertainment organisations.
The partnership, which began in 2018, has been extended to include the PAX A35 Android payment device and Bluefin's BluePOS payment application.
Through the Agile platform, Bluefin's PCI-validated P2PE encrypts cardholder data at the point of interaction, keeping sensitive payment information unreadable throughout the transaction lifecycle. The approach is designed to reduce PCI compliance scope for venues while maintaining an optimal checkout experience for customers.
PAX A35 capabilities and BluePOS functionality
The PAX A35 is an Android-based payment device supporting EMV, NFC, magstripe, and QR code payments, designed for fast-paced customer-facing environments such as theatre box offices and event venue entry points. Its adoption enables Agile's clients to offer a broader range of payment acceptance options with faster transaction processing.
BluePOS is Bluefin's proprietary payment application, fully owned and operated by the company, providing a more flexible and scalable alternative to legacy payment applications. Full internal ownership of the application enables faster development cycles, direct control over updates, and more responsive feature delivery based on partner and merchant feedback.
Furthermore, the expansion positions Agile to serve not only its existing entertainment client base but also growing opportunities in higher education and other dynamic venue environments that require adaptable payment workflows alongside strong security standards.
Talking about the move, Terry Ford, SVP of Partnerships at Bluefin, said the expanded partnership enables Agile's customers to benefit from PCI-validated P2PE, modern Android devices, and the flexibility of BluePOS within a platform they already use. Richard Steward, Founder and CEO of Agile Ticketing Solutions, said the expansion allows the company to improve its payment offering with industry-leading security while introducing new technologies for its clients.
