According to the press release, the partnership comes due to a combination of growing demand and limited stock of Saint-Sixtus Abbey’ products, as the Abbey faced a number of issues with customers stockpiling products and selling them on for much higher prices. Therefore, to put an end to bulk buying and reselling, in 2019, the Abbey began working with Ingenico to create an online payment solution, which could control incoming orders and offer international consumers the opportunity to buy the beer.
Accordingly, Ingenico worked with the Abbey to establish a 'click and collect' system with the ability to accept international payments over a limited sales period, including a fraud detection module, which sets sales limits and blocks transactions as necessary. Consequently, the number of fraud attempts against the monastery decreased.
Overall, Ingenico works with businesses of all sizes to offer payments solutions and international payment capabilities. Recently, the company has unveiled a set of features for digital businesses, which were designed to reach peak payments conversion – such as its Recurring Payments Suite, and a subscription payments option.
