Walletto has launched a new plugin for the PrestaShop platform, aimed at simplifying online payment integration for merchants operating ecommerce stores.
The tool allows businesses to process payments without building custom infrastructure, offering access to acquiring services for major payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
The plugin is intended to reduce the development effort and compliance overhead typically associated with implementing secure online payment systems. According to Walletto officials, the plugin eliminates the need for businesses to build out complex backend architecture or manage compliance with evolving security standards such as PCI DSS and 3-D Secure.
Designed for international reach
International capabilities form a core part of the plugin’s design. It supports more than 75 languages and can handle multiple currencies, international money transfers, and varying regulatory requirements across regions. Walletto representatives say this enables merchants to enter new markets with less reliance on local payment partners or extended development timelines.
By offering a single integration point, the plugin aims to replace fragmented acquiring setups with a centralised system. As a result, businesses can avoid managing multiple processors and reduce reconciliation complexity, factors that often increase operational costs and the risk of error.
In addition to payment processing, the plugin includes tools for expense tracking, automated reconciliation, and custom branding. Transaction data can be routed directly into financial systems, streamlining reporting tasks and reducing manual input. Walletto maintains the plugin’s updates and security enhancements, minimising technical maintenance responsibilities for the merchant.
Scalability is another focus. The API integration is intended to accommodate various business models, including recurring billing and high-volume operations, allowing ecommerce merchants to expand payment infrastructure as needed without requiring in-house payment expertise. The plugin is available to PrestaShop users and is positioned as a ready-to-deploy option for businesses seeking to establish or expand secure online payment capabilities.
