Xpress Money extends money transfer service in Myanmar

Monday 6 May 2013 07:00 CET | News

UK-based instant money transfer brand Xpress Money has entered an agreement with financial institutions Small and Medium Industrial Development Bank (SMIDB) and Myanmar Citizens Bank (MCB) to extend its services in Myanmar.

Xpress Money is set to provide two of its inbound remittance services dubbed Cash to Cash and Cash to Account, in Myanmar.

Remitters can visit any of Xpress Moneys agent locations worldwide and send money instantly to Myanmar. A unique 16-digit Xpress Personal Identification Number (XPIN) will be provided to the sender that has to be shared with the beneficiary. Using that XPIN, the beneficiary can walk into any of the MCB and SMIDB branches to collect the money. Once the amount is credited, the remitter receives a confirmation via SMS.

Xpress Money is a global brand in instant money transfers, with an agent network spanning over 135,000 locations across more than 125 countries. Xpress Money offers the choice of sending money directly to a bank account along with the option to personally collect cash at an agent location and in some countries the option to deliver money to the receiver’s door-step. Xpress Money is an FSA licensed Authorized Payment Institution (API).

In recent news, Xpress Money has launched its direct account credit services to more than 30 countries across Europe.
