WorldPay, Discover expand relationship to enable PayPal in-store checkout for US business owners

Global provider of payment and risk services WorldPay has expanded its strategic alliance with US-based payment company Discover Financial Services to enable WorldPays customers to accept PayPal in-store checkout at the brick-and-mortar locations of participating merchants.

As a result, WorldPays customers will be among the first US businesses able to accept PayPals mag-striped cards. WorldPay customers will be able to begin accepting PayPal at the point of sale in the spring of 2013.

Discover Financial Services was founded in 1986 as a direct banking and payment services company. The company operates the Discover card and provides home loans, private student loans, personal loans, online savings accounts, certificates of deposit and money market accounts through its direct banking business.

WorldPay has 75 national and international payment methods and operates in over 40 countries worldwide. In recent news, WorldPay has entered an agreement with MoneyGram to expand the latter’s direct-to-account money transfer service in up to 50 countries globally.
