Following this announcement, Worldline is set to act as a single interface for the entire card issuing value chain, from setup and production to fraud detection, as well as cardholder portal and customer service. This partnership is expected to allow Volksbank to offer its clients secure and efficient solutions in the current marketplace, while also relying on additional tailored tools that are set to be developed in the future by both companies.
Worldline had multiple collaborations and developments in the last couple of months, covering several different geographic areas around the world.
In November 2023, Worldline announced its decision to enable Tap to Pay on iPhone for large French merchant and trader customers. Following this announcement, the company introduced Tap to Pay into its client’s suite of services in order to enable them to accept in-person contactless payments in a simple and secure manner. This included contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, as well as other digital wallets, only by leveraging an iPhone or the Worldline Tap to Mobile iOS application. This was expected to give businesses the possibility to eliminate the need for additional hardware or other payment terminals.
The solution also intended to provide several capabilities and benefits to clients, in order to optimise business operations through use cases. These included queue busting, payment on delivery, at restaurant tables, and others. According to the press release published at the time, Worldline was committed to expanding its products to additional markets, and the launch in France focused on providing businesses with a flexible and secure way to accept payments.
Earlier in the same month, the company announced its collaboration with Goethe-Institut in order to deliver improved payment methods to its customers. Worldline was set to work with the Germany-based firm to offer streamlined payment experiences to its clients through multiple integrated local payment options in the respective currencies.
As part of this strategic deal, Worldline customised its leading payment service for Goethe-Institut by incorporating performance analytics and unified reporting as well. The solution adopted a personal and consultative approach in order to ensure an optimal experience while also facilitating local processing through a payment orchestration layer and leveraging proprietary smart routing technology.
