The Taiwan Post Office (TWPO) has awarded Wincor Nixdorf an order to upgrade its network of automated teller machines.

TWPO customers will be able to use 532 additional Wincor Nixdorf self-service ProCash 2000xe ATMs 24 hours a day, and the first systems are already in use. The rollout of the 532 units will be finished by the end of March, 2005. In winning this order, Wincor Nixdorf succeeded in extending its business conducted with international postal service companies. The Taiwan Post Office runs the largest ATM network in the country, with 3,100 machines installed in its 1,300 branches. With the 532 new Wincor Nixdorf units, TWPO will be reinforcing its strong position in Taiwan and underlining its strategy of continuing to increase its ATM population. The ProCash 2000xe machines will be customized to meet the specific needs of the TWPO branches and will be able to be upgraded to handle extra services if required. The ProCash2000xe automated teller machines offer increased levels of availability and performance. At the heart of the ATM is a dispenser which can process up to 60 banknotes per transaction. As well as increased processing speed, the new note handling design also means improved levels of availability for the entire system.
