The 815E motherboards are available immediately on all BEETLE family models including the BEETLE /iPOS, BEETLE /NetPOS, BEETLE /S, BEETLE /M and BEETLE /XL-II. Wincor Nixdorf leveraged the 815Es support for double USB bandwidth to provide a simplified USB migration path for retailers. Retailers can purchase a BEETLE system with standard serial RS232C-powered COM ports today, then switch out two of the powered COM ports for three USB PlusPower ports at a future date. The upgrade can be accomplished with an easily installed field-replaceable interface module. This gives retailers the option to migrate to USB PlusPower as peripheral options become available.
