Wednesday 6 February 2008 10:03 CET | News

Visa and postal service provider Singapore Post (SingPost) will launch the Visa Money Transfer remittance service from 51 designated post offices in Singapore. The service enables the transfer of money to Visa cardholders in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the UK.

Customers need to register for a Cashome money transfer identification card at any of the 51 SingPost post offices offering Visa Money Transfer. Customers only have to provide the recipient’s 16 digit Visa card number to whom they wish to send the funds. The SingPost Visa Money Transfer service maintains cardholder security during the transaction as customer information and account numbers are encrypted throughout the process. Senders can remit a maximum of SGD 3.500 per day. Every transaction will be taxed with a flat fee of SGD 9. India was the first country in Asia Pacific to launch Visa Money Transfer in 2004.
