VeriFone reveals VX Evolution payments platform

US-based electronic payment services provider VeriFone has unveiled VX Evolution, a suite of payment products which include integrated contactless and encryption features on an architectural platform that supports various merchant environments.

The VX Evolution systems are powered by the Verix architecture and include VeriShield Protect technology which is set to support encryption of card data and ensure acceptance of contactless cards and mobile-phone initiated payments.

The VX 520 and VX 680 payment products, which are part of VX Evolution, will be available for sale in May 2010 whereas the VX 820 and VX 820 DUET will be rolled out before the end of the calendar year
