VeriFone brings PAYware Merchant service across Europe market

Tuesday 2 November 2010 11:02 CET | News

US-based electronic payment services provider VeriFone has made available the PAYware merchant service across its European sales and distribution network.

PAYware Merchant is a bank-certified, hosted payment service for large retailers, fuel organisations and hospitality companies. This payment platform is PCI DSS-compliant, which has enabled it to integrate with front-end POS systems.

Most recently, VeriFone and Gemalto, a Dutch digital security company, have closed an agreement under which the two companies are expected to jointly pursue new chip card products based on the global EMV payment standard. In addition, the two partners are in discussions for VeriFone to acquire Gemalto’s point-of-sale (POS) business.
