The companies have also signed a continuous service agreement giving TietoEnator responsibility for the management services of Metsos EAI system. TietoEnators Digital Innovations Unit supplied the solution, which is based on the IBM WebSphere Business Integration -suite and links systems and applications used in different parts of Metso and handles the required data conversions between the systems. The first service to be connected to the global system was Metsos Shared Service Centre. The next step is to integrate the North American Shared Service Centre and the systems connected to it. How the integration process continues will then be determined by the needs of the different businesses. Thanks to the interface standards specified during the project, further integration projects can be carried out efficiently anywhere in the world. TietoEnator manages Metsos EAI system as an outsourced service. The service includes a global help desk and the management and monitoring of servers, equipment capacity, databases, applications and the operating system.
