TietoEnator and the Swedish Bank FöreningsSparbanken have signed an agreement appointing TietoEnator as partner of FöreningsSparbanken in the area of core banking applications.

The agreement expands the existing agreements in these areas into a strategic relationship encompassing new solutions, application management and sourcing. The agreement comes after successful completion of a modernisation project in the card area where TietoEnators PBS Card solution was set in production in May 2003, with approximately 5 million cards. The partners are also in the midst of a modernisation project in the deposits area whereupon the existing deposits solution in FöreningsSparbanken will be replaced with a new solution based on TietoEnators PBS Deposit and PBS Corporate Account. The new deposits solution will be fully operational before the end of 2004. To FöreningsSparbanken, the new core banking solution is a key element in the banks future IT platform. The new solution will assist the bank in strengthening relationships with retail and corporate clients, reducing operating costs and shortening time spent on developing new products. The agreement further strengthens TietoEnators position as the leading provider of solutions and services through partnerships within the banking and finance market in the Nordic region. A number of leading European banks use TietoEnators banking systems. This agreement comprises a new generation of the following modules from TEs Global Solutions portfolio: PBS Corporate Account, Card, Deposit.
