Tata Sky offers IVR-based mobile payments with Atom Technologies

Indian cable operator Tata Sky has teamed up with Indian mobile payments services provider Atom Technologies to offer its clients interactive voice response (IVR)-based payments services.

The first IVR service allows subscribers to top their accounts. The latter is an agent assisted IVR model which enables users to buy set-top boxes using the guidance of call center representatives. After providing their personal information to the call center staff, customers are connected to the Atom IVR payment system which prompts them to enter their card details through the phone’s key pad.

Atom Technologies is a digital, retail initiative of the Financial Technologies Group, a group which offers technology services for the financial markets. Atom Technologies has recently received the Visa Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) certification for its mobile payments platform Atom. Tata Sky a joint venture between the Indian conglomerate Tata Group and Indian cable operator Start.
