Tapjoy gathers USD 21 million from Rho Ventures

US-based provider of monetization and distribution services on mobile platforms Tapjoy has raised USD 21 million from Rho Ventures, a US investment company.

Tapjoy intends to use the funds to develop distribution and monetization applications on the iOS, Android and Facebook platforms, to emerge application ecosystems domestically and internationally and to develop application media licensing and incubation opportunities.

Tapyjoy provides customers with alternative payment services, cross-platform viral notification channel Social K-Factor (formally called SocialKast), cross-app promotion bar AppStrip and the Pay-Per-Install advertising network.

The round brings the Tapjoys total funding to over USD 40 million.To date, 5000 developers and advertisers have teamed up with Tapjoy for the monetization and distribution of their games and applications.
