SpareBank 1 Choose Todos Data System

Todos will deliver its remote authentication solution Todos eCode during a 24 month period, to between 300 000 and 700 000 of the banks private customers. A first delivery for 150 000 users has been made in September. SpareBank 1 will begin distributing the security solution to end users from October this year, when distributing the new EMV chip cards. Todos’ security solution eCode includes a security application for smart cards (Todos eCode Security Application), portable smart card readers (Todos eCode Reader), and a verification server (Todos eCode Central System). The customers generate One Time Passwords (OTP) with their bankcards (where the security application has been loaded at personalization) and the Todos eCode Reader. The One Time Password together with a static password achieves a two-factor authentication towards the customer’s private certificate, stored in a central BankID server. Todos eCode is a cost efficient and user-friendly authentication solution, which has received great reviews by the market. Among users are Swedish ICA Banken, China Construction Bank, and Raiffeisen Bank in Italy. Todos eCode Reader, the eCode security application, and the verification server, have all been approved by BSK Bankenes Standardiseringskontor (the Norwegian banks’ standardization office) to be used for end user authentication in the Norwegian BankID project.
