Softpay now accepts Discover and Diners Club International Cards

Softpay has partnered with Discover Global Network, a player in the payment card industry to accept Discover and Diners Club Cards. 

In collaboration with Nets/Nexi, the latest version of the Softpay App is now expected to support Discover and Diners Club Cards for Nets/Nexi customers.  

According to the announcement, this extension is intended to not only broaden the payment network’s reach but also ensure an improved user experience and a wider array of choices for cardholders.

Softpay has partnered with Discover Global Network, a player in the payment card industry to accept Discover and Diners Club Cards.

Discover Global Network, known for its rapid expansion, is a global payments network, with acceptance across 70 million merchant acceptance points and millions of micro-merchants. The announcement of the partnership aims to offer seamless and secure payment options for customers. Per the press release, this update is particularly beneficial for international travellers in Europe, allowing easy use of their preferred Discover or Diners Club cards.

Headquartered in Denmark, Softpay.io is a paytech company that provides a Tap-to-Phone solution, turning any Android device into a contactless payment terminal. The Softpay app is compatible with a range of acquirers and supports local and international card schemes, ensuring flexible payment options. The integration process seeks to make the Softpay app the preferred tap-to-phone technology provider for over 50 partners across Europe. 

In March 2024, the paytech announced that accepts BankAxept, a card scheme in Norway, as part of its advanced payment solutions. Per the official announcement, Softpay offers a tap-to-phone solution that accepts BankAxept, aiming to ensure fast and secure transactions for both merchants and customers. With Softpay, merchants are able to use any Android device to accept BankAxept cards in-store, at pop-up locations, or for deliveries, providing mobility and reducing transaction costs.  

In February 2024, Softpay announced that it supports Dankort wallet payments on iOS, aiming to improve payments in Denmark. As per the information detailed in the press release, the move allows merchants who use Softpay as their payment terminals to enhance the customer experience by accepting Dankort payments using Apple Pay. With assistance from Nets, its plans to introduce Dankort to Apple Pay and allow Nets to support other issuers in Denmark and abroad with this feature. Additionally, the two organisations intended to enable merchant customers to enrol other commercial cards or domestic schemes into the Apple Wallet. Dankort was integrated into Apple Pay in 2022, enabling users to leverage their iPhone or Apple Watch to pay instead of their physical card.
