SIA acquires 49% of Belgian company SINSYS from Atos Worldline

European payment services provider SIA has entered an acquisition agreement with global electronic payment services developer Atos Worldline to acquire 49 percent share capital of SiNSYS, a European company serving the card payments industry.

Under the agreement, SIA becomes the sole shareholder of SiNSYS since the company previously owned 51 percent of the share capital. SIA and Atos Worldline have also finalized a contract for the provision through SiNSYS of processing and technology services relating to cards.

SiNSYS was founded in 2003 as a joint venture in the sector of technology solutions and services for the management of international cards and merchants. The company has a portfolio of 30 million cards, 700,000 merchants, over 1 billion transactions and operates in 12 European countries.

SIA provides design, creation and management of technology infrastructures and services for financial institutions, corporates and public administration bodies, in the areas of payments, e-money, network services and capital markets. SIA Group is currently present in around 40 countries and also operates through its subsidiaries in Belgium, Hungary and South Africa.
