The Sacramento Tax Collector is also expanding this contract to include Official Payments electronic check option for payments made via the Internet. With this renewed and expanded contract, Official Payments Corp. enables Sacramento County taxpayers to pay current and prior year property taxes 24 hours each day, 365 days each year, through e-PropTax, the Sacramento County Tax Collectors Online Property Tax Information System at www.eproptax.saccounty.net, or by calling 1-888-877-3575. These payments may be made securely by using a VISA, American Express, Discover or MasterCard, or electronic check. Official Payments provides electronic payment services for the Internal Revenue Service, 24 states, the District of Columbia and nearly 1,600 local government clients nationwide. Official Payments principal business is processing electronic payments on behalf of government entities via its Web site, www.officialpayments.com, and its toll-free telephone number, 1-800-2PAY-TAX. Official Payments charges citizens a convenience fee for the service. Citizens using credit or debit cards with bonus rewards programs may, depending on their cards program, earn reward points, airline frequent flyer miles or cash back for paying their taxes and fees.
