One of Indonesiaâ€â„¢s leading retailers, Matahari Putra Prima, has ordered 1,500 Wincor Nixdorfâ€â„¢s TP.Linux software licenses, and Mydin Mohamed Holdings, one of the biggest retailers in Malaysia, has decided to implement Wincor Nixdorfâ€â„¢s Microsoft-based TP.net software with an order for a total of 460 licenses. The first hypermarket with 60 checkout systems running TP.net is to be opened in July.

Matahari Putra Prima is one of the most innovative retail organizations in Indonesia and enjoyed revenue growth over 20% in 2005. The company currently operates 80 department stores, 36 supermarkets, 19 hypermarkets and 106 family entertainment centers. With this kind of heterogeneous store portfolio, Matahari was looking for software able to support its IT equipments within its existing outlets and would also enable innovative concepts of its new-store scenarios. TP.Linux is deemed to be best solution for Matahari to meet these complex requirements and will be installed as soon as a new merchandising management system is introduced. Until last March 2006, Matahari Putra Prima had successfully installed over 1,500 new Beetle POS checkout systems in its stores. Mydin Mohamed Holding, which is to start running the first 60 checkout systems running TP.net in July, is one of Malaysia’s leading wholesale organizations with a current total of 17 branches and 460 checkout systems. With a pro-active pricing policy and a range of over 170,000 items, Mydin Mohamed Holding places high requirements on the solution in terms of flexibility. In particular, the pro-active pricing policy poses a particular challenge which TP.net was able to meet. Mydin will be using TP.net integrated with the Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta materials management solution. The software is expected to be installed in the other outlets by the end of 2006.
