RBS Lynk Expands Wireless Offerings for Mobile Merchants

RBS Lynk has expanded their Payments Unplugged line of wireless transaction processing solutions by introducing support of two mobile wireless payment solutions: the VeriFone Vx610 and an enhanced version of RBS Lynk’s MobileLynkTM. RBS Lynk’s support of these additional services will provide greater choice in affordable, reliable wireless payment options enabling mobile businesses to accept payments wherever they do business.

The mobile wireless capabilities of the Vx610 and MobileLynk solutions enable RBS Lynk to service vertical markets that the payment industry has typically underserved, such as limousine services, locksmiths, pest control, landscaping, plumbing, building contractors, electricians, towing services and tradeshow vendors. Merchants in other businesses, such as restaurants, festivals, seminars, roving ticket and stadium concessions, and even traditional retailers, may also benefit from the mobile wireless payment services offered by RBS Lynk. RBS Lynk’s portfolio of wireless payment services now includes four terminal options: RBS Lynk’s proprietary services MobileLynk and LynkVTTM, as well as VeriFone’s Vx610 mobile unit and the VeriFone Omni 3750 Wi-Fi terminal, which is a stationary device. RBS Lynk’s MobileLynk operates through a cell phone and incorporates a Bluetooth card reader and printer. This service offers merchants the flexibility of email, voice, credit card payment transactions and electronic signature capture through a single device. In addition, merchants using MobileLynk automatically receive free use of LynkVT, virtual terminal software that converts any PC or laptop computer with Internet access into a payment processing terminal. The VeriFone Vx610 is an all-in-one terminal design combining a PED-compliant, PIN-entry device keypad and an integrated high-speed printer. Restaurant or retail merchants in service environments will benefit from the Vx610’s payment application with server reporting and tip adjustment features as well as support for RBS Lynk’s gift and consumer loyalty card programs. The VeriFone 3750 Wi-Fi terminal is a stationary wireless device enabling merchants to expand their number of terminals without installing additional phone lines or cabling at their business location. This solution is well-suited for food courts, mall kiosks, satellite cashiers as well as trade marts, conventions and event facilities that offer Wi-Fi communication support.
