PETCO Adopts Fujitsu for Retail POS Hardware

PETCO has selected Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. to provide point-of-sale hardware for all new store openings.

Installations began during the first quarter of 2004. PETCOs current plans call for opening as many as 90 stores in fiscal year 2005. Typical installations include Fujitsus TeamPoS 2000 point of sale terminals, DT 50 receipt printers, custom PETCO keyboards and 15-inch LCD operator displays. Fujitsu also will stage all equipment with Microsoft Windows operating system software and provide depot maintenance services. PETCOs principal format is a 15,000 sq. ft. superstore with 4-5 checkout lanes per store. PETCO is a leading specialty retailer of premium pet food, supplies and services offering more than 10,000 high-quality pet-related products.
