Payment Technologies Drives Sony of Canada Pulse Program

Monday 19 July 2004 16:42 CET | News

Sony of Canada and MacLaren McCann Canada, are using the Payment Technologies platform to support the back-end operations for Sony of Canadas recently launched "Pulse" customer loyalty program in more than 70 Sony of Canada Ltd. stores. Sony of Canada was directly responsible for the selection of Payment Technologies as its back-end technology partner. Payment Technologies platform -- designed to process transactions of value including credit card and customer loyalty transactions -- was instrumental in enabling MacLaren McCann to focus on the creative elements and deliver a fully-integrated Pulse campaign to Sony of Canada on-time. The platform provided the crucial software backbone that enabled Sony to activate their Sony store key tags and kiosks to process account-based transactions, transfer data, and capture customer profile information for future marketing efforts. The Pulse program is unlike most other loyalty programs in that members do not need to make a purchase in order to collect program points and coupons that may be redeemed toward the purchase of Sony products. Rather, qualified customers can sign up to receive a sleek key tag, which can be swiped at a Pulse kiosk every time they visit a Sony store. Each visit provides the opportunity to instantly win prizes and enjoy exclusive benefits such as free delivery and advance notice of promotions.
