Nova and Shift4 Team up For High-Speed Communications

Wednesday 12 May 2004 16:02 CET | News

All Shift4 merchants, POS vendors and value-added resellers (VARs) previously connecting to NOVA via dial-up have been successfully migrated to a direct high-speed connection.

Average authorization transaction times are reduced from around 15 seconds over dial to less than 3 seconds on the new interface. Shift4s community of more than 75 POS vendors and VARs serving the restaurant, lodging and hospitality markets now have access to the NOVA Network, rated number one in speed and reliability by MasterCard. Hundreds of merchants using Shift4s web-based enterprise payment processing solution, $$$ ON THE NET, were automatically converted from dial to direct IP connectivity, resulting in faster transaction times and lower communication costs. Merchant locations included Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, JFK International Airport, and several Aramark foodservice properties. Hundreds of additional properties that currently connect via a third party to NOVA are also in the process of being converted. Shift4 POS vendors and VARs include MICROS, RunIT, Aloha, Retail Pro, Smyth Systems, Digital Dining, Spa Soft, and InnQuest.
