mBlox Opens Office in Singapore to Meet Growing Demand in Asia Pacific

Wednesday 13 December 2006 01:41 CET | News

mBlox, one of the world’s largest mobile transaction networks, has announced the opening of its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore to support demand in the region.

With the expansion in this high growth region, mBlox is offering connectivity and access to Western PSMS services to Asian communications service providers (CSPs) and application providers. These offerings are the first in a portfolio that will include connectivity and PSMS services for global CSPs interested in the Asian market. In conjunction with these efforts, mBlox has appointed Faissal Houhou to head the sales and marketing efforts in the region. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Houhou will manage and develop strategic relationships and accounts. This announcement follows the mBlox acquisition of the subsidiary technical center in Singapore of LaNetro Zed, a leader in the development and marketing of entertainment and communications products and services for mobile devices. As part of this agreement, mBlox hosts LaNetro Zed’s operator connectivity business in Asia. LaNetro Zed maintained ownership of its content and marketing operations and is using mBlox’s mobile transaction network as its preferred mobile billing infrastructure. The agreement confirms a growing trend in the mobile industry where large integrated companies are recognizing the benefits of outsourced connectivity and billing and are moving to more focused business models.
