MasterCard, Cardtronics form surcharge-free ATM alliance through Allpoint Network

MasterCard and global non-bank ATM operator Cardtronics have entered a partnership to enable Prepaid MasterCard issuers and program managers to expand their offerings through the Cardtronics-operated Allpoint network.

Under the terms of the agreement, participating Prepaid MasterCard issuers will be able to connect to communities across the US, providing their customers with surcharge-free access to 33,000 Allpoint ATMs in national and local merchant locations. Allpoint’s ATMs can be accessed in US retail locations such as 7-Eleven, Target, Costco and Walgreens.

Most recently, US-based financial services provider Banco Popular has partnered Allpoint, in a bid to extend the reach of its financial services across the US via the latter’s ATM network.
