Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, will be using the MasterCard Gateway Service (MiGS) to provide a best-in-class e-commerce payment gateway, ensuring secure online ticketing and online payments in India and for other Emirates products.

MasterCard has signed a Payment Service Provider Agreement with Emirates to provide a single online payment platform. Now processing close to 50 million transactions per year, MiGS is a turnkey payment solution for large and small merchants who require an effective and more efficient way to process payments for customers across all acceptance channels and for all global credit cards. MiGS will enable Emirates to conduct safe and secure online transactions for a variety of payment types, including all global brands of credit cards. As well as providing a single payments interface for multiple payment instruments, MiGS handles multi-currency processing, supports multi-country operations and includes fraud protection mechanisms. MiGS will reduce processing complexity while providing Emirates with a payment solution in several markets. The MiGS platform will be applied to Emirates core airline online ticketing services for India as well as to other streams of business, such as the Emirates Hotels and Resorts. All transactions, irrespective of the credit card type used, will be processed through the MasterCard network.
