Prepaid international mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Lycamobile has signed a new channel agreement with UK payments network PayPoint to offer top-ups for Lycamobiles prepaid SIM card, reports Mobile Business magazine.

The deal with PayPoint adds 25,000 retail terminals, taking Lycamobile UK’s total retail reach to over 115,000 points of sale. Users can top-up their mobile credit at PayPoint retailers such as Somerfield, The Co-operative, Spar and Superdrug. Retailers will be able to offer the top up in denominations ranging from GBP 5 to GBP 50. The service is supported by consumer promotions such as free credit top-ups and an advertising campaign.

Lycamobile enables consumers to make international and national calls directly from their mobile without entering access codes or PIN numbers. The MVNO plans to reach over 1 million subscribers within 12 months in the UK and over 115,000 retailers throughout the UK by the same date.
