LaGarde Leads E-Commerce Industry In Supporting Visa CISP Initiatives

Wednesday 9 March 2005 17:09 CET | News

LaGarde has taken a significant step forward for credit card acquirers and online merchants as its StoreFront e-commerce platform achieved validation with Visas Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) Payment Application Best Practices.

The availability of compliant solutions is an important ingredient in the card associations efforts to help underwriters and merchants achieve a proper level of security in their credit card operations. Online retailers motivated by their customers demands for protection, scrutiny from acquiring banks, and the possibility of significant fines from VISA, will look to solutions providers who can support their needs for CISP compliance. In the small and mid-market segment, turnkey solutions play an even more important role in helping merchants to achieve compliance. Retailers with large Visa transaction volume may have more internal resources to focus on compliance issues; however, the intermediate and smaller retailers simply have not had all of the necessary tools to meet compliance requirements. With validation from Visa providing the framework, StoreFront has assembled all of the necessary components for an end-to-end compliant solution, including secure hosting, compliant payment solutions including support for VISA and MasterCard payer authentication, and audited and validated e-commerce software. Together these provide a single vendor solution for online retailers of all sizes to meet CISP requirements at an affordable price point.
