Kazakhstan: BPC Banking Technologies, Tsesnabank to implement SmartGuard service

Monday 25 June 2012 00:50 CET | News

BPC Banking Technologies, a provider of open system e-payment services for the global financial industry, has entered an agreement with Kazakhstan-based financial institution Tsesnabank, to provide the latter with its fraud monitoring and prevention service, dubbed SmartGuard.

SmartGuard monitors the customer’s payment activity by comparing transaction characteristics against a set of defined rules established by the bank. The service allows setting and modification of rules to optimise fraud prevention. When suspicious activity is detected, Tsesnabank can configure SmartGuard to send customer e-mails or SMS text messages, raise an alert with a call center operator, decline the transaction or block the card.

Tsesnabank has already been a BPC SmartVista client. SmartVista is a single integrated service developed by BPC Banking Technologies and used for transaction processing and card management.
