ImageWare Launches Omni Biometric Engine

ImageWare Systems has launched Omni Biometric Engine (Omni) to specifically address mission-critical security applications for government, public safety and private enterprises.

Omni enables organizations to manage population databases of all sizes and conduct multi-modal, comparative biometric searches including exhaustive (1:n), specific (1:1) or investigative (x:n). Omni supports the capture, search and verification of all types of biometrics including, but not limited to, face, finger, iris and signature. It is also vendor neutral and upholds any biometric hardware or algorithm either directly or through a BioAPI interface. Omni additionally manages and stores biometric images and templates that are enrolled in real-time or electronically scanned or imported. Furthermore, Omni can be easily integrated with existing applications or enable users to create a wide range of biometrically-enabled applications such criminal booking, civil or criminal background checks, watch list, visa/passport, and border control (air, land and sea). ImageWare has recently added livescan capabilities into its Crime Capture System (CCS), a digital booking, identification and investigative solution that enables law enforcement organizations to capture, store and retrieve digital photos and related data. With livescan capabilities, CCS users can now capture single to ten prints and palm to further improve the booking, investigative and identification procedures. By adding livescan capabilities, law enforcement organizations further enhance the investigative process by providing additional identifiers to identify suspects involved in a crime. In addition, officers no longer need to travel to multiple booking stations to capture fingerprints and mug shots. All booking information including images will be located at a central designation and can be routed to the FBIs criminal history record repository.
