Identix has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) from the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA) to provide Identix line of TouchPrint 3000 ten-print live scan systems - including the live scan industrys only full hand scanner - to replace, upgrade and add to the more than 100 live scan systems currently deployed throughout Pennsylvania.
The BPA is for a one-year period, with two one-year options that may be exercised by mutual agreement of Identix and PCPA. Additional terms of the BPA were not disclosed. Identix said that it has received an initial purchase order under the BPA valued in excess of $500,000 to begin supplying TouchPrint 3800XCH live scan systems, which incorporate the biometric industrys only full-hand scanner. Identix expects to ship and install the majority of the live scan systems in the Companys fiscal 2004 third quarter.
