Identix Incorporated has been awarded a contract from the San Diego County Sheriffs Department to provide Full-Hand Live Scan Systems for deployment to Sheriffs jail facilities throughout San Diego County. The contract, which is valued in excess of $600,000, includes Identix TouchPrint 3800 Booking Stations with Integrated Full Hand Scanners and associated central site equipment to provide printing of hand cards and transmission of these records to the California Department of Justice. Identix expects to ship and install the Live Scan systems by the end of its current fiscal year ending June 30, 2004. Identix believes it is the only company with an FBI and California Department of Justice certified full hand live scan system. The TouchPrint 3800 Full Hand Scanner employs a patented cylindrical imager that ensures all critical regions of the hand - including the cup of the palm, inter-digital region and carpal crease - are captured in a single step. The imagers resolution gives latent examiners the rich ridge detail that is needed to help solve crimes by matching latent prints found at crime scenes. Identix and TouchPrint are trademarks or registered trademarks of Identix Incorporated in the United States and other countries.
