IBM Point-of-Sale Solutions Declared Industry Leader

Clarendon Reports has declared IBM the industry leader for installed Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions in its 2003 World Wide Data Book.

With more than 30 years of retail experience and market leadership, IBM delivers advanced POS solutions and next-generation store technologies tailored specifically to the needs of retail stores. Thousands of customers worldwide depend on IBM to keep their stores running smoothly. Two-thirds of the worlds top 100 retailers worldwide use IBM. According to Clarendon, IBM has approximately two million POS systems installed. IBM offers a wide range of POS solutions to provide customers with an optimal shopping experience while helping retailers enhance customer service and business operations. IBM also is working on creating new store technologies, such as wireless Webpad tablet computers, smart shopping carts, kiosks and other devices linked by powerful middleware, to help retailers create new shopping experiences for their customers.
