Monday 21 January 2008 09:30 CET | News

British banking group HSBC has added UK business and technology consultancy Deticas NetReveal service to its portfolio of retail banking fraud prevention measures. Deticas social network analysis and scoring technology is aimed at helping banks steer clear of potential fraud attempts targeted against them.

Detica NetReveal service is designed to detect a broader range of fraud risks as compared to the results provided by traditional scoring methods. The system identifies behavioural connections between accounts and customers not apparent to traditional systems, whilst taking an innovative approach to assessing overall risk.Furthermore, Brendan Pickering, head of group fraud technology, HSBC, mentions that the decision to purchase NetReveal was based on the significant return we achieved very rapidly from a pilot study.
