Heartland Payment Systems teams up with Voltage Security for encryption software

Thursday 18 June 2009 14:51 CET | News

Payment processor Heartland Payment Systems has partnered information encryption services provider Voltage Security on the development of encryption (E3) software for payments processing.

Heartland’s E3 software, which is expected to enter the market by Q3 2009, will be powered by the Voltage SecureData product range, which integrates its Format-Preserving Encryption and Identity-Based Encryption applications. The former is capable of integrated encrypted data, such as credit card or Social Security numbers into legacy business application frameworks. Via Identity-Based Encryption, data can be protected without the need for certificates, with the help of a key server that controls the mapping of identities to decryption keys.

Heartland is already making use of Voltage SecureMail and Voltage SecureFile encryption technologies throughout its corporate and business network.
