Global Payments Appoints EVP of World-Wide Merchant Acquiring

Global Payments has appointed Carl J. Williams to the position of Executive Vice President of World-Wide Merchant Acquiring with responsibilities for the companys merchant services business outside North America.Williams most recently served as President and CEO of Baikal Group, LLC. Previously, he served as President of Spherion Assessment Group, a business unit of Spherion Inc. Williams was Chairman and CEO of HR Easy, Inc., which was acquired by Spherion Inc. in 1999. Williams has an extensive career in financial services, most notably as President of the Merchant Services Division of National Processing Company, one of the nations largest processors of credit card, debit and check transactions. He also served as President and CEO of JBS Associates, a leading provider of non-cash transaction (U.S., Canada, UK) services that was acquired by NPC in 1993. During his tenure as president, JBS enjoyed spectacular growth and earnings. Earlier in his career, he spent seven years at Trans Union Credit in various sales and marketing positions. Williams holds a BA from La Salle University in Philadelphia. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of US Personnel.
