Opteva family of ATMs enhances Diebold presence in Carrefours Champion supermarkets

The largest retailer in Europe will equip 70 of its supermarkets with Opteva automated teller machines (ATMs) made by Diebold, Incorporated, a global leader in providing integrated self-service and security solutions. Carrefour Group recently ordered Diebolds Opteva(R) ATMs for placement in its Champion supermarkets. The supermarkets will add Opteva lobby cash dispensers to their in-store ATM fleet. The Diebold units offer advanced functionalities such as dispensing of coupons and tickets, delivery of marketing messages, funds transfers, balance inquiries and more. The Opteva family of ATMs, which now includes seven units, was launched in Europe in 2003 in Paris. To date, more than 20,000 Opteva ATMs have been purchased by some of the worlds leading financial institutions. The Opteva family covers most every possible self-service application for the ATM, and was designed for high performance, maximum security, superior reliability and serviceability. The open design is powered by Agilis, Diebolds high- performance software, which is capable of interfacing with a variety of multiple-vendor products, reducing the need for back-end support. Champion plans to replace older ATMs with the new Diebold Optevas. Installation of the units is expected to be complete by the end of 2004.
