ProtectServer Orange simultaneously supports two distinct APIs, PKCS#11 and Mark II EFT, allowing for multiple applications running on the same hardware security module (HSM). By combining both APIs onto one platform, Eracom now enables HSM integration into multiple financial transaction processing applications that previously would have required two HSMs. Transaction processing application providers and their customers, typically financial institutions, will reduce total cost of ownership by 50% compared to the number of HSMs normally required for these multiple applications. The Mark II EFT API is supported by major transaction processing application providers enabling Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Point of Sale (POS) networks. These networks mandate secure transactions for credit, debit and smart card applications. The Mark II EFT API meets industry standards established by card associations, EFT networks and industry standards groups, i.e. ANSI and ISO. Mark II capabilities include 3DES, RSA, EMV, CEPS, PIN Mailer and ATM Key Mailer & Remote Key Management. PKCS#11 (also known as Cryptoki) is the specification for the cryptographic token interface standard. It defines a technology independent programming interface for cryptographic applications such as Certification Authorities (CA), PKI environments, card management systems, EFT, Internet and online banking solutions and emerging cryptographic services.
