epay joins the EHI Mobile Payment Initiative

Germany-based payment provider epay has announced becoming a member of the EHI Mobile Payment Initiative.

The Germany-based EHI Mobile Payment Initiative collaborates with a cross-competitive consortium of companies such as Bluecode, CGI Germany, Google Germany, PAYBACK, PAYONE, and S-Payment, to provide retailers and consumers with information on the subject of mobile payments at the point of sale (POS). Their focus is on trends, developments, and the implementation of mobile payment methods in Germany.

Epay provides payment methods with its network of 748,000 POS terminals in 57 countries. The company is an acquirer of various QR payment methods, cash register interfaces and POS terminals. A representative of epay has stated that the aim of this collaboration is for epay to help retailers and consumers use the increasing variety of payment methods efficiently.
