Enterprise IP Telephony Dramatically Impacts Traditional PBX and KTS Markets

In Q1 2004 the Worldwide Enterprise IP Telephony market grew 17 percent over Q1 2003, and posted yearly growth of 56 percent. In comparison, the Traditional Telephony Equipment market posted respective decreases of 11.5 and 21.4 percent.

Posting 43 percent growth, Asia/Pacific led all worldwide regions in Enterprise IP Telephony equipment sales, according to Q1 2004 market analysis by Synergy Research Group (SRG). North America and EMEA posted equipment sales increases of 18 and 8 percent, respectively. In the quarter, the United States represented the largest share of the Worldwide Enterprise IP Telephony IP opportunity holding a share of 49 percent.
