Activant Solutions and Do it Best have formed an alliance to provide retail management solutions to the co-ops 4,200 independent hardware and building materials retailers. Activant will provide Do it Best member- retailers with a comprehensive solution that allows them to improve operational efficiencies, customer service, sales and margins as well as quickly execute Do it Best Corp. programs.Do it Best members will benefit from the new alliance by having access to broader applications, such as signature capture, wireless access, document imaging and management and e-commerce all in a graphical Windows environment. In addition, members can now easily integrate with Do it Best to rapidly deploy member-wide programs and processes including gift cards, promotions, pricing, file maintenance, and catalog information. Do it Best interviewed members, spoke with industry analysts and conducted extensive product research before deciding to align with Activant as its exclusive technology of choice for business management solutions. Do it Best chose Activant because of its large installed base within its membership, Activants migration experience, the systems ease of use and installation, built-in applications and product databases, online and e-commerce capabilities, and extensive support and field service offerings. As part of its agreement with Activant, Do it Best will resell Activant Eagle for Windows systems to its members who are currently using the Do it Best proprietary legacy system. Activant will have rights to market and sell the Activant Eagle for Windows and Activant Falcon systems directly to existing Do it Best members who dont currently own a system or are using a 3rd party system. Activant will provide the hardware, software, training and support to participating Do it Best members.
