Alimentation Couche-Tard, through its subsidiary Circle K Stores Inc., has selected the NCR RealPOS 70 point-of-sale (POS) workstation for approximately 1,000 of its convenience stores in the United States.

Alimentation Couche-Tard is the fourth largest convenience store operator in North America and the second largest independent (not integrated with a petroleum company) convenience store operator. Alimentation Couche-Tard is also installing NCR printers and NCR RealScan 92 presentation scanners. Rollout is scheduled to begin later this month. With the NCR RealPOS 70, components can be swapped easily, offering a stable, industry-standard POS platform that is easy to upgrade and service. Its industry-standard design enables easy implementation of current and next generation software applications. Featuring a unique omni-directional scan pattern, the NCR RealScan 92 allows for fast presentation and pass-by scanning. The NCR RealScan 92 also includes a built-in single-line mode for pin-point accuracy, enabling it to easily decipher bar codes that are in close proximity to each other.
